Salem v Shelf - 29/04/06

Shelf won the toss and put Salem into bat on a wicket that was green and covered in weeds (looked a bit like Steve Priestley's back garden)

Shelf got off to a great start, Deano taking a wicket with his 2nd ball. Four overs later saw Jonny Marshall brilliantly stump Shezad for 9.

Some hefty slogging from the next pair saw a partnership of 50, until Nat Bottomley dismissed Malik for 43.

Salem continued to lose wickets at short intervals and were eventually all bowled out for 110.

Jonny Marshall kept wicket brilliantly with 3 victims on an wicket with uneven bounce.

Nat Bottomley was the best of our bowlers with figures of 13-2-43-4

Shelf's innings started poorly with batsmen 2 to 7 scoring 6 runs between them.

Billy Sugden and Dave Rawnsley put on a 6th wicket partnership of 40 before Dave was caught for 11.

Nat Bottomley was soon despatched to the changing rooms for 1 leaving Billy and Mick Priestley at the crease requiring a further 25 runs.

Billy Sugden completed his 50 with great support from Mick. A full toss to Billy was despatched for 4 giving Shelf a 2 wicket victory.

A match Shelf should have lost but thanks to 32 extras conceded by Salem, Shelf just managed to squeeze a win
