Shelf again were put into bat on a Park Avenue wicket which was soft,
green and very hard to bat on.
With the outfield uncut runs were very hard to come by.
All batters grafted hard and all chipped in with double figure score.
Dean Smith then took control and blasted 64 runs comprising
of some huge hit on what is the biggest ground in the league.
On any other ground Dean would of certainly have celebrated a century.
Shelf innings closed on a very competitive total of 157-8.
Wibsey Park Chapel got of to a good start on a wicket and
outfield that was drying out and were speeding along at 66-1
Mick Priestley continued to tie the batters down with his accurate medium pace
and with great support from Nathaniel Bottomley, Shelf got three quick wickets.
With light fading quickly Mick was replaced by Chris Wolfenden who quickly
finished off the Wibsey Park Chapel tail collecting 4 wickets.
Wibsey Park Chapel finishing 104 all out.
This was a great win for Shelf beating the team who finished third in the league
last year.
