Shelf batted first on a wicket that offered a little for the bowlers,
often keeping low making it hard for the batters to score quick runs.
Shelf started well though with innings from Bill Sugden (33 runs), Chris Wolfenden (32 runs)
and some lusty blows from Lee Butterfield (21 runs) laying a good platform.
However, once these three had departed Shelf lost there way a little
and only ended up scoring 101 runs from the allotted 16 overs.
Shelf battled hard in the field and with a bit of catching practise maybe should have won.
Mr Mistry (43) was dropped twice, once by Wolfy on about 10 and a difficult chance by Coatsy on 30, Coatsy and Baz also dropped
Smirthwaite (36) and in the end Shelf lost by 6 wkts with only 2 balls remaining.
